An iconic project for industrial water treatment

We recently completed the commissioning of a large-capacity evaporation unit in Mexico. The unit is designed to treat industrial wastewater. This major project is fully aligned with our partner’s environmental transition strategy. It demonstrates both FE’s technical expertise and our commitment to responsible industrial solutions, which are designed to address current and future environmental challenges.

A combination of technologies for reliability

The facility is based on a high-performance hybrid technological architecture, specifically designed to ensure continuous, reliable, and secure operation—even with complex and highly contaminated effluents.

This combination optimizes the treatment process while ensuring excellent operational stability, regardless of variations in load, flow rate, or the composition of industrial effluents. The system’s robustness ensures sustainable and controlled operation over the long term.

A high-performance, fully automated unit

The fully automated unit operates on its own power using mechanical vapor compression, without relying on an external thermal energy source. It achieves an evaporation capacity of 36 metric tons per hour, demonstrating the energy and environmental efficiency of the process.

On an annual basis, 350,000 metric tons of industrial wastewater will be treated—the equivalent of 130 Olympic-sized swimming pools. This achievement results in a significant reduction in volume, more efficient water reuse, and a notable decrease in the site’s environmental impact.

Expertise deployed internationally

This project demonstrates FE’s ability to design, install, and commission large-scale units internationally, while supporting its partners in achieving their industrial performance and environmental management goals.
