55-Ton Evaporator on Its Way to Mexico: An Exceptional Logistics Operation

Shipping a 55-ton, 21-meter-long industrial unit is never a routine operation. Yet this was the challenge successfully tackled by FE’s teams during the transshipment of a new evaporator destined for an industrial facility in Mexico.

Despite challenging weather conditions, the operation was carried out under complete control, with the equipment transferred from a road convoy onto an inland waterway barge along the banks of the Aa River before continuing its transatlantic journey.

Beyond the impressive images typically associated with this type of handling operation, the project highlights the technical, logistical and human expertise required to deliver large-scale industrial projects.

> Far More Than a Transportation Operation

Moving equipment of this scale involves much more than a lifting operation.

This new evaporator follows a previous successful project delivered by FE.
The confidence placed in FE by France Evaporation has therefore been renewed for this new installation, designed to address significant environmental challenges.

The process aims to transform complex effluents that cannot be discharged directly into the environment into a valuable and reusable resource. This approach contributes to more sustainable water management practices and fully aligns with industrial initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact.

> Months of Preparation Behind the Scenes

While transshipment operations are often the most visible phase of a project, they represent only a small part of the overall undertaking.

Before reaching the quay, the evaporator required months of engineering studies, design, manufacturing and project management.

Following its transfer to the barge and subsequent ocean shipment, the evaporator will continue its journey to Mexico, where it will be installed and commissioned at the customer’s production site.
